The LetterA new figurine in a new style. A departure from nude sculptures, "The Letter" is a sculpture I have planned over a period of 14yrs. A captain, caught in the midst of no man's land on the battlefields of WW1. With shells and bullets cutting the air around him, his amunition depleated, he holds his revolver down to the ground and reaches out toward the enemy with a letter in his hand. A desperate act of defiance and despair, this is all he has left to show humanity, the letter from his dearest. The initial sculpture is a large figurine of the captain. The figurine will be completed shortly and photos of the model will be on the site as soon as possible. I am planning to exhibit the sculpture, which will be available in 11 limited editions, in London for Remembrance Day, 11/11/11. A lifesize sculpture of the entire scene is something I'd love to realise. I am hoping to find an enthusiastic patron for the dramatic piece, in which the captain and his letter are central. | ||
